No sleepy Monday’s this week! We started of with a power punk duo. Heart Attack Kids are a band from Canada and they rip. If you like Citizen, PUP, or Hobosexual you will love this band. The first song we had by them was “Glass Bones”. If you want to know what the band is about, that is the first song you need to hear first. It’s the type of song you expect to hear at a basement show, the drums so loud it makes your ears hurt in the best way possible. The next song is one that would be amazing to see live, “Satellites”. Starting off with pounding drums, this is a song you want to jump around too.
Reissue Tuesday had me Head Over Heals, The Cocteau Twins is a band with a very unique sound. On March 16th , 4AD reissued the Scottish band’s key offerings — 1983s Head Over Heels and 1984s Treasure — on both vinyl and CD. Those albums are the ones that brought the band to mainstream fame.
We got some indie electronic to really amp up Wednesday with Black Moth Super Rainbow. This band has evolved a lot since their beginning, but in a way that makes you continue to look forward to what they are going to release next. Off their forthcoming album Panic Bloom we have their track called “Baby’s in the Void”. It is the second single to be released following “Mr No One,” and is replete with all the sonic textures that fans have loved since the start. The group’s first full-length release in six years will be available on May 4th!
And to finish this week off we had the UK legend, George Ezra! “Hold My Girl” was just a tiny sneak peek of what we can expect for his upcoming album, Staying at Tamara’s, which is out today! George is not a household name in the United States but we are hoping this album will make an impact. He creates pop songs that resonate with the listener while still holding his own unique sound.
