Dear Student Radio/College Radio/Campus Radio Friends! We hope you had a fruitful academic year! After a rather strange year, we hope you and yours are well! We are also hopeful as we have all found ways to continue doing what we love most, radio! To that note, the 11th World College Radio Day is October 1st, 2021 and we are hoping to have you with us even this year! If you are continuing with us for World College Radio Day 2021, please reply to this email with “Boom! Mic Drop!” if you have not yet done so.
We have chosen a theme for this year’s edition of WCRD that reflects the year that’s passed. It’s been a year that has tested us all and forced us to be patient, thoughtful and inventive. It has also shown just how resilient radio producing students are. We have been through a lot, but we kept going. Therefore we are proud to give you our theme for this year:
We look forward to sharing more about this theme with you over the summer, and are currently working on the artwork and programming content for the theme as well. So, our WCRD cabinet is now back together to help us organize this 24-hour event around the world! To that end, we always look for new members from different countries to join us in this journey. If you are interested in being part of the World College Radio Day Cabinet, please reply to this email stating your involvement in college radio and contributions the team can expect from your participation for consideration. We will once again rollover all stations who participated last year, and we are going to simplify the process for you. College radio experiences significant change in their management roster each year, and we’d like to stay in touch with you throughout this process to make sure we can be of assistance, should you have any questions about World College Radio Day. If you’d like to change contacts for the person running your station, you can do so by emailing us back with the new information of who is going to be our new contact for the year. You can also reply to this email if your station decides to not participate this year. A quick reminder that we list all participating stations on our website collegeradio.org and provide opportunities to amplify your message by including YOUR content on our celebration. Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Let’s make this year the best one yet! |
